Deryl W. Palmer

- LCSW, IMH-E III / Executive Director -

Deryl Palmer is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Infant Mental Health Specialist in Southern New Mexico, where he resides with his wife and three children. Deryl has over 20 years experience as a mental health clinician. In 2011 he took a leap of faith in starting a non-profit counseling agency, Amistad Family Services, Inc. Through the adoption of his oldest son, his service to Mesilla Valley CASA, and numerous leadership roles in child advocacy and clinical supervision throughout the state, Deryl has dedicated much of his professional life to the wellbeing of children and their families. In addition to being the CEO and Clinical Director of Amistad Family services, Deryl is also a Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) state trainer and provides clinical consultation and reflective supervision to numerous therapists across the state.

Hanii Ziehl

- Billing/Insurance Specialist -

Hanii Ziehl graduated from NMSU with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Counseling and Educational Psychology. She joined the Amistad Family in 2015 as front office support specializing in client relations. Working with the administrative team she has grown into the role of Billing and Accounts Specialist doing all our behavioral health billing, including research and account maintenance.

When she is not working, Hanii enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys going on little adventures, hiking, baking, board games and music.

Kim Frost

- Office Manger -

Kim Frost has been with Amistad since August of 2015. She studied Business Management and obtained her BBA from the University of New Mexico. Her role is ever changing, but she works alongside the administrative team and providers to ensure the needs of our office are met administratively.

When Kim is not working, her greatest joy is spending time with her family and friends.  She also enjoys traveling, gardening and reading.

Monique Garcia

- Fiscal Assistant -

Monique completed her undergraduate internship with Amistad in 2017 and she then received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Counseling Education from NMSU. She is currently taking a few classes towards her master’s degree. Monique enjoys her position at Amistad in helping with our newest addition, The Play Lab! On her free time, Monique loves going on runs with her dog, hiking and spending time with her family!

Asia Gutierrez

- Front Desk Assistant -

Asia is a New Mexico native, born in Silver city and raised in Las Cruces. She is currently enrolled as a full-time student at NMSU, with an associates in media technology and working towards a degree in art education. She really enjoys her position working at Amistad, and looks forward to engaging with Amistad clients everyday.

Anissa Wright

- Intake/Scheduling Coordinator -

Anissa has been with Amistad Family Services for just a few short months but has adapted very well to our agency's foundation and culture. She is a Silver City, NM native and received her Bachelor's in Kinesiology. She was recently accepted into the Masters of Social Work program at NMSU. She is the forefront of Amistad and takes on that position with pride, as she loves personal encounters with anyone and everyone! In her spare time, Anissa loves yoga, being outdoors, and going to the local farmers market!"
