Danya Linares is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a unique blend of expertise in both education and the arts. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Theater Arts and a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from New Mexico State University, as well as a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the College of William & Mary, where she specialized in Military and Veterans Counseling. She is bilingual in English and Spanish and works with children, adults, and couples. Danya supports clients experiencing concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, grief and loss, and relationship challenges. Her clinical approach is strongly informed by attachment theory, emphasizing the importance of early relationships and emotional connection in shaping well-being. Danya integrates her background in the arts into her therapeutic work, incorporating creative and expressive approaches that support clients in exploring emotions, building insight, and fostering healing. Danya is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and is currently pursuing advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples as well as Child–Parent Psychotherapy (CPP). These approaches allow her to support individuals, couples, and families in strengthening relationships, processing trauma, and developing healthier patterns of connection. Her therapeutic style is collaborative, compassionate, and holistic, with a focus on helping clients build resilience, deepen self-understanding, and develop effective coping strategies.
